The Countdown to LOST
January 15th, 2010
The countdown has begun. We are now 17 days away from the first episode of the final season of LOST and even though it’s bittersweet, I can’t wait. Are you ready for the end?
LOST is the kind of show you simply can’t get enough of and when it ends nothing will ever come close to replacing it. Like all of you, on one hand I can’t wait to finally have all the mysteries explained on the other hand I don’t want to accept the fact that it’s going to be over. Now with that being said, lets explore some of the theories and unanswered questions that are floating around.
For starters where is Claire? Is she dead, alive or somewhere in between? She never would have just given up Aaron of her own free will after realizing she was meant to raise him, remember she felt guilty for even thinking about adoption. Does anyone know why Charles Widmore can’t return to the Island? Why won’t the Island let him? Can you tell me what Widmore meant when he told Ben, “I know what you are boy”?
How is it that Hurley is able to see and talk to the dead? Was it caused by the incident or maybe the hatch blowing up? And what is up with that huge bird screeching Hurley’s name? Is the ‘man in black’ also the smoke monster or is it Jacob?
Is it possible that Aaron is really Jacob being reborn or maybe Jacobs heir, better yet Jacobs son? He is, after all, the only child born on the Island after ‘the incident’. Remember too, that the psychic told Claire no one but her should raise the child or there would be consequences.
I don’t believe that ‘Jughead’ blew up, so to speak – if it had there wouldn’t be an island left. I think the white flash happened at the exact moment that Jacob died or maybe it was one final time shift of the Island, which also may have thrown our Dharma Lostie’s to the current time as the Ajira Lostie’s. On that note, do you think someone is getting ready to be chosen to take Jacob’s place like Jack or Lapidus? For example, Ilana said that Lapidus might be a “candidate”, but a candidate for what?
Where do Desmond and Penny figure in, and why does Eloise tell Desmond the Island isn’t done with him yet? Furthermore, why did Faraday say that Desmond was “special”? Was it the Island that made Faraday a gifted scientist? After all he was conceived there.
We all need to know more about the Dharma Initiative. What were they really doing on the Island? We now know that they weren’t the peace loving hippies that they claimed to be and what about the numbers? Why were the numbers on the hatch? Where did the numbers come from, and what do they mean? Eloise and Widmore both said, “there’s a war coming and the wrong side was going to win,” how would they know that? Eloise Hawking also stated that, for the first time in a long time she didn’t know what was going to happen. Why? Should we interpret thay as this is all a loop and this has been happening over and over and will continue to do so until they get things right? Why is it that Eloise knew how to find the island through ‘The Lampost’, but Widmore didn’t?
I’ve saved the best for last, and that’s John Locke of which there as so many theories.
Remember when Locke’s mother was a young teenager in her bedroom? Her mother came in and asked her if she was going out again, with “that man” and makes the statement that he is 3 times her age. So when we meet his mother, Emily, later in life she introduces Locke to his father, Anthony Cooper, but he’s not 3 times her age. So what I’m getting at is, I don’t believe Anthony is really Locke’s father. Could it be that Jacob or better yet the man in black is really Lock’s father and it was just a coincidence that Locke was a match to Anthony for the kidney transplant? I recall Anthony saying “I needed a kidney and you needed a father.”
With so many more mysteries to be solved, we’ll stop here – after all we only have 17 more days to wait until the beginning of the end. One final thought, what will we all do when it’s over?
Can ya dig it?
